Kaiya Ducks are raised in Taiwan for their eggs, meat, and valuable white feathers.
They have very lean meat, about 18% fat content (compared to 30% in a Pekin.)
They are good egg layers.
The females are mated with large white Muscovy male ducks to produce a mule duck.
History Notes
Kaiya Ducks were bred from a cross between Pekin and Tsaiya ducks.
