A drupe is a fruit that has a single large pit (stone) in the middle of it.
Almonds, cherries, nectarines, mangos, peaches and plums are “drupes.”
Olives are classed as drupes as well because they are fruits, though we treat them more like a vegetable.
Raspberries are also classed as a drupe, because a raspberry contains multiple druplets: each small fleshy nodule on a raspberry is a drupe, with a seed in the centre of it.
