The 11th of December is Have a Bagel Day.
Celebrate today by actually having a bagel. And how would you like it, fresh or toasted?
Do you like plain bagels, or fancy ones with seeds and berries in them?
Bagels are a breakfast favourite for many. A breakfast bagel for today could be a bagel with cream cheese (try it with a schmear of mustard!), or a bagel breakfast sandwich with bacon, egg and cheese on it.
Or, you could have a bagel sandwich for lunch.
Some people have the idea that bagels are “health food” — they actually pack a whallop in calories! But it’s fine to have one once in a while!
Many people feel that the two best places in the world for bagels are New York City and Montréal, but you can of course get quality bagels elsewhere as well.
There’s also a Bagels and Lox Day in February, which is confusing — but no one ever said there was any rationale behind these made-up food days!
