Hutterite Soup Beans

Hutterite Soup Beans grow on a bush type bean plant that grows 2 to 3 feet (60 to 100 cm) tall; 115 days from seed.

It produces pods 4 to 7 inches (10 to 18 cm) long.

When dried, Hutterite Soup Beans are oval, and buff-coloured.

They have a firm texture when cooked.

History Notes

Hutterite Soup Beans were brought to North America in the 1760s by the Hutterites.
