Maple Icing Recipe
This is a butter-based icing for cakes, deriving its flavour from real maple syrup, rather than artificial maple flavouring. Very sweet, as you are adding sugar to sugar!
- Put the butter in a deep mixing bowl, and cream it with electric hand-mixers. Gradually add ½ the icing sugar, beating well.
- Then add the remaining icing sugar a bit at a time, alternating with a tablespoon each time of the maple syrup.
- You may not need all 6 tablespoons of the maple syrup.
