Mouraska Potatoes are oblong, with buff skin and white flesh.
These are waxy potatoes, aimed at table use by consumers.
When harvested early, they can also be used for processing into French Fries (aka chips in the UK.)
History Notes
Mouraska Potatoes were developed in 1976 by Agriculture Canada at the Fredericton Research Station in New Brunswick and at its Potato Breeding Programme in La Pocatière, Québec, from a cross between Hudson potatoes and a potato referred to as “F59103.”
During development, the potato was referred to as “LP8058.”
