Renown Applecrabs

Renown Applecrabs grow up to 1 ¾ inches (4 1/ 2 cm) wide.

They have light yellow skin flushed with red.

Inside, they have pale yellow flesh, with a very mild, sweet taste.

Renown Applecrabs ripen late August / early September.

Cooking Tips

Good for fresh-eating and drying. Not very good for cooking, or canning. Some people don’t like it for juicing, either; others like it for juice.

Storage Hints

Store for up to 2 weeks, or up to 4 weeks in the fridge.

History Notes

Renown Applecrabs were developed from a seedling of Repka Kislaga apples by Agriculture Canada at its Experimental Farm at Indian Head, Saskatchewan. Introduced 1936.
