The 19th of October is Seafood Bisque Day.
It’s the designated day to celebrate a bowl of creamy seafood crustacean soup.
It is a very flavourful soup that is rich, smooth and velvety.
Lobster bisque is considered the gold standard, but many people prefer shrimp. Other popular choices are crab or crayfish.
Do you like yours thickened with the ground-up crustacean shells?
Vegan versions of bisque might be made with coconut milk and squash, tomato, mushroom or red pepper, but then they wouldn’t actually count for today, being as it is seafood bisque day. Perhaps one from seaweed?
Wherever you enjoy some bisque today, just remember, don’t be shellfish — share your bisque!
