The 20th of September is Pepperoni Pizza Day.
Pepperoni pizza might be the most popular type of pizza ever yet created. In fact, it’s pretty much the default pizza in the United States and Canada. Every place selling pizza by the slice will pretty much always have a pepperoni slice as the default advertised option.
The combo of cheese and pepperoni offers pizza lovers crunchy crust, stringy cheese and highly-flavoured, greasy, chewy meat.
Do you like your pepperoni pizza deep dish, regular crust or thin crust? Chicago style or New York style? Round or rectangular shaped pizza?
What’s your favourite bevvie to go with a pepperoni pizza? Beer, wine or a soft drink?
By the way, pepperoni pizza is a very American invention. The Italians don’t put what we call pepperoni on their pizza, and besides, they would call it something like salami anyway, not pepperoni, which in Italian actually means “bell peppers” and has nothing to do with meat at all!
Regardless, since today is Pepperoni Pizza Day, why not treat yourself and ask for DOUBLE the pepperoni!
