Who doesn’t like stuffed mushrooms? (apart, of course, from those who are deathly allergic to mushrooms in any form.)
Treat yourself, your family and / or friends to stuffed mushrooms today. Smaller ones can be served as a starter; larger portobello size mushrooms can be part of a main course. The large ones have the advantage of being less fiddly to work with.
And for dessert, how about a Snickers bar? On this day in 1930 Frank C. Mars invented the Snickers bar in Chicago. Crumble it up, and sprinkle it over ice cream, or fold it into a trifle-like dessert. Or serve them in that fine old Scots tradition, battered and deep-fried.
