The 5th of April is Caramel Day.
Celebrate today by treating yourself to caramel in some form!
Better caramel candies will use milk, cream and sugar as ingredients, while cheaper, mass market ones will use oils and corn syrup instead.
Perhaps you would like to treat yourself to some artisanal variations such as salted caramel, jalapeno or even habañero caramels for the more adventurous souls.
If you have time, you could try making your own caramels at home.
You could also try caramel ice cream, a caramel coated apple, caramel coated popcorn or, something with a caramel sauce such as creme caramel.

In April 2018, Werther’s Original candy teamed up with Hasbro to celebrate Caramel Day by creating a life-size version of the Candyland game on the Santa Monica Pier in California.
