The 7th of November is Swedish Mud Cake Day.
It’s a day to enjoy Swedish Mud Cake, or if you don’t know what it is, it’s a good day to learn as it is an easy dessert to fall in love with!
Swedish mud cake is a simple, flat chocolate cake. There are no chemical leaveners (such as baking powder or baking soda) added to it to give it much rise.
As a result, it is brownie-like, dense in texture with a gooey, soft centre.
A slice is typically served with whipped cream or ice cream.
In Sweden, it is easy to buy mud cake already made in stores.
If you haven’t tried it before, it may become your new favourite dessert when you do!
